About the Artist

Hi! I’m Brittney Oberfeld, the artist behind The Fantastic Fox.

It all started with a birthday party. I'd been obsessed with magical worlds my whole life, and when I decided to handcraft the decorations for a fantasy-themed celebration, something shifted. I couldn't stop. By the time the party finally happened — two pandemic-delayed years later, and yes, it was worth the wait — my apartment was overflowing with potions, creatures, and relics I hadn't been able to stop making.

My friends and family convinced me to bring them to a local market. They sold out. That was just the beginning.

What I make now has grown into something I couldn't have imagined then. Most of my art starts with something that's lived another life... a vintage teapot, an antique perfume bottle, a glass vial with a history I'll never fully know — and ends somewhere between prop and artifact. I sculpt, cast, mold, paint, and obsess over details until a piece feels like it could only have come from one place: a world that's always existed just out of frame.

Some pieces are meant for a collector's shelf. Others are made to be worn. A few are meant to go on actual adventures with you.

The name the Fantastic Fox is inspired by my two Shiba Inus, Appa and Yenn, who look like little foxes and bring their own kind of magic to my life. I’m a proud Gryffindor, a lifelong fantasy fan, and I chase that same feeling of wonder I had as a kid opening a storybook and wishing I could step inside.

If you're a collector, a dreamer, or someone who's always suspected the magical world is just slightly out of reach — welcome. Everything here was made for you.
