Bottle #067
About potions from the vault
Every potion begins as a bottle — vintage, antique, or unusually shaped — chosen for the story it might one day hold.
From there, each piece is transformed by hand: vintage metals and woods are sourced, labels are illustrated and aged, sculpted details are added, and inside you may find swirling, colour-shifting liquid or even a curious specimen. No two bottles are ever the same; each carries its own history and a touch of alchemy imagined just for that vessel.

Concept notes:
After creating Phoenix Feathers as a specimen, I knew I wanted to explore the feathers of other creatures. I’ve been going back and forth between two possibilities for this piece: Augurey feathers or Hippogriff feathers, each carrying a very different kind of history and presence.
The Augurey, sometimes called the Irish Phoenix, has a long history of being misunderstood. For many years, its song was believed to signal death. In the 1800s, this belief was corrected, when it became understood that Augureys sing in anticipation of rain. Their feathers are said to repel ink, which makes them impractical as standard quills but potentially useful for more specialized magical applications.
Hippogriff feathers carry a different weight entirely, tied to strength, loyalty, and the balance between restraint and power. Their use is less debated but no less significant, often associated with honor-bound magic and carefully earned trust.
This piece will ultimately feature either Augurey or Hippogriff feathers preserved as a specimen. The feathers will be hand-painted and arranged within the bottle, with a sculpted vintage topper integrated to suit the chosen material. The final decision will be guided by the vessel itself, allowing the form to determine which feathers feel most at home inside.
When can I expect to hear from you?
Because each potion and specimen is handcrafted and designed uniquely for its bottle, there isn’t a strict timeline; I let the creative process naturally unfold.
That said, I aim to complete reserved bottles within 1–2 months.
